One-to-one describes the conversation
A one-to-one call has two participants. It does not tell you how those participants met. A random introduction and a profile-based introduction can both lead to a one-to-one conversation.
Separate the call format from the selection process. If you want to choose someone yourself, look for profile browsing rather than assuming that “1-on-1” includes it.
Choose how you want to meet
Random matching lets the service choose an introduction. Profile browsing gives you a chance to review a profile before deciding whom to approach. Neither approach guarantees that the other person will be available or interested.
